Pulp & Soda / New Month, New Issue

In the RGV there are several magazines that cover the area. They’re usually located in the entrances of local restaurants and clothing boutiques. I usually pick up one of these mags up because they interest me, and i want to know how they showcase the Valley.

However, there was really one magazine that was consistent with the culture and the youth of the Valley…

Last Month's Issue / Awesome, Awesome Cover!

Pulp & Soda really caught my attention because they kept up with what all these magazines are supposed to be about… the Rio Grande Valley. To start things off, the cover of the magazine showcases a popular figure and recognizable place of McAllen. While, other magazines try and catch our attention with covers really having nothing to do with the Valley, P&S went out and captured an image almost all of us are familiar with.

I absolutely loved that man. I related to them automatically because they were keeping things real, keeping things relevant to what an RGV publication is supposed to be.

Going along with the culture, the material inside is up do date. The art, the music, and the fashion presented in the pages were all dope. I mean, a lot of the material was stuff I had seen before, and had even blogged about in this blog. Compared to other publications, Pulp & Soda just seemed so fresh and modern.

Telling by the magazine, the people at Pulp & Soda are doing their research and are into what the new generation of the Valley are into. Keep doing what you all are doing P&S Staff, I’m loving it.

EVERYONE PICK UP THIS MONTHS ISSUE!!

Probably my favorite article from last month. Banksy is just too cool.

Man On The Moon: The End Of Day Album Artwork

Check out the album artwork for Kid Cudi’s album set to release Sept. 15. The initial release date was supposed to be August 25th, however because of album packaging deadlines the album had to be pushed back.

Plus with the later release date it makes him ineligible to win a Grammy until 2011… Dude was pretty upset about that.

Banksy Summer Preview

In an advertising class I took a while back, my group and I were inspired by the work of famous street artist Banksy. Take a closer look of Banksy’s summer show in this preview. In a recent interview with the BBC the artist says, ” This is the first show I’ve ever done where taxpayer’s money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off, this show is my vision of the future.”

This guy’s creativity is insane.

This Is Just Too Awesome // Sigg Jones

I can’t even explain this man. I saw the image of the gray Magic Dunks over on Highsnobiety, and automatically clicked on it for more.

Via: Highsnobiety

We get a first look at an upcoming 3D animation movie, Sigg Jones, produced by three French film students. Their own love for sneakers takes up an important role in the movie, with the main character getting super powers via his Magic Dunk. The animation is off the hook and simply beautiful to watch and the transformation of his Dunk Low into the Magic Dunk is also very impressive, especially for sneaker connoisseurs. After the Marty McFly shoe, the Magic Dunk might be the next one that people will ask to be put into production. Only time will tell. SneakerFreaker talked to the three animators of the movie.

Here below a sequence from the animation film, showcasing one of the impressive fight scenes.

I would DEFINATELY sport all of these kicks!
